MIAMI — Rene weakened back into a depression on Saturday, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

Rene was the earliest "R-named" storm in what has been a record-setting hurricane season.

According to the 11 a.m. update on Monday, Rene is about 1,120 northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands and is packing 30 mph winds, according to NHC. Rene is stationary at this time, NHC said.

Rene is poorly organized and should become remnant on Monday and dissipate by Wednesday, the NHC said.
