Hurricane Zeta made landfall as a Cat 2 in Louisiana Wednesday evening, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC). As of Thursday afternoon, Zeta is a post-tropical storm.
According to the NHC's 5 p.m. update, Zeta is about 25 miles west-southwest of Cape, New Jersey, with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph.
Zeta will move across the mid-Atlantic states Thursday afternoon and emerge over the western Atlantic Thursday night, NHC says.
Zeta is forecast to become a non-tropical gale-force low later on Thursday.
