A couple who lives in a mobile home are luckily to be alive after a tree came crashing down on the bed they were sleeping in.
"If I was still sitting up in the bed like I normally do , I would be dead." Said Terrie Altman.
Altman and her husband stayed in their mobile home at Hidden Valley Mobile Home Park during Hurricane Irma because they didn’t want to leave their sick neighbor.
"We wanted to be close in case he needed some assistance." said Altman
Turns out she’d be the one needing assistance
Altman said, "I was set up, I had a home and everything I had was paid for and now I have nothing. Now I’ve got to start over again and that’s really hard."
Terrie says even her clothes were destroyed by the damage
She said she’s thankful they will be getting help from FEMA, but mostly she's thankful that she’s here today to tell her story. "It’s by the grace of God I’m still alive."
