To help students and families affected by Hurricane Irma, the College Board is offering free SAT registration in November.

The waiver is only available in FEMA-designated counties, which includes all Bay Area counties.

The college board is also waiving a fee to create a CSS profile for financial aid.

"We understand this is a difficult time for those who are struggling as a result of the storm. We hope this measure can ease some worry for students and ensure their college-going plans are minimally affected during storm recovery efforts," the College Board wrote in a press release.

To register or contact Customer Service call 866-756-7346 from now until October 25. You can also call that number if you or your child is already registered to take the test and you need a refund.

For the CSS Profile fee waiver, students should go to cssprofile.org, complete their application, and the system will automatically apply eligibility rules. To reach CSS Profile Customer Service, please call 844-202-0524.
