The project to install smart technology at intersections in downtown Tampa will take longer than originally planned.
Drivers need to plan for nightly lane closures at 33 intersections until at least mid-November. Work began in late September on the installation of underground conduit and equipment on existing traffic signal poles and mast arms for the THEA Connected Vehicle Pilot Project.
The lane closures are temporary and begin nightly at 7pm, re-opening by 5am the following morning. Work is 7 nights a week. The project is expected to be completed by 5am, November 15, weather permitting.
Drivers are encouraged to review the map of the 33 intersections affected.
