LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. — Some families wore masks and some wore pajamas.

One crew even went full “Tiger King.”

“We had a blast!” says Dani Adams. “The people were just amazing.”

Adams is the photographer behind a clever quarantine-style fundraiser in Land O’ Lakes.

One hundred families in the city’s Lakeshore Ranch neighborhood recently took part in Adams’ unique photo shoot.

With business at her Digital Myst Photography studio slow during the pandemic, Adams had extra time on her hands.

So the family photographer turned to her own neighborhood — with an 85mm lens so she could shoot from afar and follow social-distancing guidelines.

Adams started taking gorgeous family portraits on front lawns, porches and backyards.

The mood was fun, silly, loving. The buzz grew.

“It was overwhelming!” says Adams.

More and more families in this tight knit Land O’ Lakes community wanted to immortalize this challenging moment in history.

Adams’ price for digital copies of the portraits? A donation to the nonprofit Kids Helping Kids Pasco County.

When Adams was done, she had photographed 100 families and raised $1,500 for kids in need.
