In the Bahamas, crews hustled Tuesday around the massive Atlantis resort on Paradise Island.
The clock is ticking as Hurricane Matthew inches closer.
The objective: To use sandbags to keep water from coming into the buildings.
A quick rain shower spoiled the afternoon for Sheharyar Memon and Maliha Shakil from Tampa.
“She's a bit more worried. I'm like, ‘It's going to be OK.’ We're going to be in the ballroom and we're going to ride out the storm. Make the best of a bad situation,” Memon said.
“I'm a little concerned I don't want to get stuck here. I have to go back to work Monday. I'm a little scared,” Shakil said.
The resort plans on using the ballroom as a shelter for all of its guests once Matthew gets closer.
The airport in Nassau is scheduled to close Wednesday at 11 a.m.
