Tropical Storm Earl forms in the Caribbean

Posted

The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Earl formed in the Caribbean Tuesday morning.

No direct impacts are expected in Florida, but we will see some beneficial rain.

The system is passing just south of Jamaica and moving rapidly westward at about 20 mph toward the northwestern Caribbean Sea.

Heavy rains will likely continue over portions of Jamaica Tuesday morning, and will spread over the Cayman Islands later in the day.

Models are still in great agreement on its track.

It will continue its westward movement toward the Yucatan.
