Think ahead this New Year's Eve when it comes to safe transportation.

If you're unable to secure a designated sober driver to get you home, there are many options in the Tampa Bay area to take advantage of this New Year's Eve.

AAA's free "Tow-to-go" service is active now through New Year's morning. The program is free and a tow truck will pick up your vehicle and take it (and you) to a safe location within a 10 mile radius.

Call 1-855-2-TOW-2-GO.

Since it started in 1998, Tow to Go has safely removed 23,000 impaired drivers from the roads.  The service is designed to be used as a last resort to keep drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel.

The TECO Line Streetcar System runs on rails that connects Ybor City, Channelside and Downtown Tampa. The streetcar line will operate until 1:30 a.m. on New Year's Eve to serve those attending the Fireworks Display in Channelside. More Info:

New Year's Eve will be the busiest night ever for ride-sharing. Due to high demand Uber is bringing back its surge pricing. Fares can increase sevenfold or more during the busiest time of the night, which Uber says will be between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Riders who use rival Lyft will also see a version of Uber's price surge, called "Prime Time."
