SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — Two teenagers from Wildwood are dead after losing control of the vehicle they were traveling in, becoming airborne and striking multiple different objects, authorities say.

The 18-year-old driver and 15-year-old passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene. They were traveling eastbound on SR-44 when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Authorities say the vehicle flew off the wet roadway and became airborne before striking a power line, then a tree branch and finally two more trees.

No other information was immediately available.
