TAMPA, Fla. — The National Hurricane Center reports Humberto strengthened into a hurricane Sunday night.

Humberto is moving northeast at about 3 mph. Its maximum sustained winds are 75 mph winds. The storm is currently located and is about 785 miles east of Bermuda.

Although the hurricane is expected to continue strengthening, Humberto poses no direct threat to Florida. The storm could cause strong rip current to form along the state's east coast beaches.

There are currently no coastal watches or warnings in effect, but people living in Bermuda should monitor the progress of Humberto.
