WEST PARK, Fla. (AP) — Two motorcycle riders were killed when their bikes collided in South Florida over the weekend, officials said.

Oscar Boatwright, 35, and Michael McKenzie, 32, died early Sunday morning at a West Park intersection, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office news release. West Park is a small municipality south of Fort Lauderdale.

Boatwright was riding a Harley Davidson when he attempted to make a U-turn, deputies said. He was struck in a T-bone collision by a McKenzie's Kawasaki Ninja. Both riders were wearing helmets. They were thrown from their bikes and died at the scene.

Flying debris from the crash struck another motorcyclist, officials said. That man was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

The release didn't say who caused the crash.
