Out of work Floridians now have the ability to chat live with a Department of Economic Opportunity representative online.
Since March, people have reported issues calling into the DEO, saying they either can't get through to a call center agent or get hung up on; some say hold times can stretch for hours.
Tuesday the DEO announced it had shifted priorities for at least 200 call center reps to using the online chat feature. You may still experience some wait time, but a service agent will help you when they become available.
Some people have said they were virtually hung up on, but others say it's easy and fast.
