DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man charged with fatally shooting a woman and barricading himself inside a home has been taken into custody.

A pizza deliveryman reported hearing a gunshot Saturday and seeing a man dragging a woman’s body. Denise Jennings’ body was found in a wooded area in Daytona Beach and authorities said the suspect was inside a nearby home.

Volusia County Sheriff’s officials say Jennings and Craig Kendrick had been arguing when he shot her in the head. The two knew each other but their relationship was unclear.

Authorities sent a bomb robot to break down the front door and enter the home where they made contact with Kendrick.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports the 46-year-old man was charged with first-degree premeditated murder

Authorities did not give a motive for the shooting.
