JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man in Jacksonville collected a lump-sum of nearly $800,000 after he found an old scratch-off while he was cleaning his house.
James Kinder, 38, said the million-dollar ticket sat of his fireplace for weeks before he remembered it was there.
“I came across the un-scratched ticket while cleaning the house; when I scratched it, I realized it was actually a $1 million winner! I wish I would have found it sooner!” he said.
Kinder bought the ticket at a Circle K on Monument Road in Jacksonville.
The $30 ticket, THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000 Scratch-Off, launched in February and features 155 top prizes of $1,000,000 and over $948 million in cash prizes.
The overall odds of winning are one-in-2.79, according to a press release from the Florida Lottery.
