OCALA, Fla. — Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a deadly crash involving two motorcycles and a tractor trailer in Ocala that had part of I-75 closed for hours.

FHP says it happened on northbound I-75 near exit 341 around 9:50 a.m.

According to FHP, Bruno Dicosimo, 55, and Francesco Vitagliano from Torino, Italy were killed in the accident.

FHP says Dicosimo lost control of the motorcycle he was driving when traffic slowed. The motorcycle was laid down and caused Vitagliano to lose control while trying to avoid it.

Both men were separated from their motorcycles and sent into the center lane of the interstate, where they were struck by a semi driven by 66-year-old Rudolph Henriques.

All three lanes of northbound I-75 were closed until 3:30 p.m.

No other information was immediately available.
