Woman charged with stabbing her roommate to death in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Police arrested a woman on Monday for allegedly stabbing her roommate to death.

Police say that around 9:30 in the morning, witnesses found Carol Handa-Dobis, 65, in a house on E. 21st Avenue suffering from multiple wounds to her neck that appeared to be caused by a knife.

A description was provided of a woman who was the victim's roommate and was suspected to have been involved.

The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Monica Alejandra Lozano, was found near the house. She had large amounts of blood on her clothing and scratches on her face.

She has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder. She is being held in the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.

Police are still investigating to determine a possible motive.
