Two men are dealing with life threatening injuries after a deadly encounter with a live wire during a routine tree trimming early Tuesday.

Erick Estuardo Amperez and Jose Alfredo Jimenez-Gonzalez were being treated at Tampa General Hospital Tuesday afternoon.

TECO crews immediately responded to the home in South Tampa where the two men were trimming trees for local homeowner.

Neighbors saw what happened and immediately rushed in to try to revive the two.

"I'm not a nurse I'm not a CPR person I just was a cheerleader and said come on brief people are on their way hang on there that's all I knew to do," said one neighbor.

The power outage did cause a small localized power outage in the area, affecting up to five homes. As of 6 p.m., it appears power has been restored to this neighborhood.
