The westbound lane of west Cass Street between North Boulevard and Edison Street will be closed starting Tuesday, May 24.
The purpose: The final tie-in of the new 36" water main has to be completed.
The lane closure is until June 3.
Eastbound traffic in downtown Tampa on west Cass Street will remain open.
City officials recommend drivers use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
The project is part of the city's Downtown Utility Capital Improvement Projects, or UCAP.
