A Tampa Police officer crashed into a pole while following armed robbery/carjacking suspects in East Tampa. The officer crashed the police cruiser into a pole near the intersection of North Taliafero Avenue and East Lake Avenue.
The suspects are still on the loose. Police have set up a perimeter at East Lake Avenue and Central to look for the suspects. K-9 units and the police helicopter are aiding in the search.
The officer is on the way to the hospital. His injuries are believed to be minor.
