Tampa Police arrested two people after the stolen car they were driving got stuck on railroad tracks early Tuesday morning.
The pursuit began around 1:15 a.m. near Osborne Avenue & 15th Street. Officers report they ran the license plate on a car and it came back as a stolen vehicle.
The officers turned the police lights on to pull over the car, but the driver sped off.
Police pursued the stolen car for more than miles. Speeds during the pursuit at times reached 70 to 80 miles per hour.
The suspects attempted to hop railroad tracks near Annie Street and Banyan Avenue but the car got stuck on the tracks.
Officers took the man and woman inside the car into custody. No one was hurt during the pursuit.
