Tampa PD investigating deadly hit-and-run

Police are currently investigating a deadly hit-and-run in Tampa.

According to police, an unknown vehicle struck a pedestrian in the westbound lanes of W. Hillsborough Avenue between Anderson Road and Hoover Boulevard before driving off.

Someone driving by some time later saw that pedestrian that has been struck and called 911. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.

Police right now do not have a description of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian nor has the victim been identified. 

The westbound lanes of W. Hillsborough Avenue previously closed at Hoover Boulevard and Anderson Road have reopened and are flowing normally.
