Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Chief Eric Ward spoke out against a proposed Florida bill that would allow for carry of guns.
Buckhorn and Ward spoke from the Tampa Police Department in a news conference with the League of Women Voters of Florida.
Florida is among five states without an open carry law. If the law passes, only those with a concealed weapons permit could apply for open carry.
