Police responded to the campus of the University of South Florida on Monday afternoon.
The school sent a tweet warning students about a possible armed person near the northwest corner of campus.
They also urged students to avoid the area and sent a suspect description.
A short time later, the school sent an alert that there was no confirmation of an armed suspect.
