A juvenile male orangutan got out of its Busch Gardens habitat on Thursday.
According to a statement from park official Karen Varga-Sinka, the orangutan was located and safely led back to its housing.
Official statement:
“At approximately 6:30 tonight, 30 minutes before park closing, a juvenile male orangutan left his habitat in a non-guest facing area located in the JUNGALA section of the park. The surrounding areas were immediately cleared of any remaining guests per the park's safety protocols. The safety of our guests, employees and animals is our number one priority. Zoo staff managed the situation and the animal was safely led back to secure housing without incident. “
