A man asked a woman to buy cigarettes for him at a Family Dollar, then robbed her after saying she owed him a dollar.

The incident happened on Dec. 6, 2016 at the Family Dollar at 8727 40th Street N. in Tampa.

The man gave the woman $5 and change to purchase cigarettes, but the clerk told her it wasn't enough money. The woman left the money at the counter with the clerk.

As she left the store, the man confronted her, striking her in the face, taking her phone and saying she owed him a dollar.

The woman tried to tell him she didn't take his dollar, but he swung her to the ground and sat on top of her, saying she was either going to pay him the money or have sex with him.

She got away, but the suspect followed her on a bicycle and confronted her again with the same threat. He then grabbed her small purse from her back pocket and jumped over a fence.

Anyone with information about the unknown suspect in this case is asked to call Tampa Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
