Tampa Police arrested a man they say sexually battered an 18-year-old stranger who had passed out between two cars after leaving a bar.

Officers tracked down 24-year-old Travon Miller at a nearby apartment complex.

According to police, the girl was drunk when she left the Station Bar and Grill around 1:00 a.m. Friday. She was walking north on Edison Avenue while her friend followed, trying to get her to go back to the bar. According to court documents, the victim then went between two cars where she passed out. At that time, Miller approached, appearing to want to assist the two women.

"The witness thought he was trying to help at first, then realized quickly what was happening," Eddy Durkin, spokesperson for TPD, said.

According to arrest documents, Miller let the witness use his phone to call for a ride. During the conversation, she noticed Miller had unbuttoned her unconscious friend's pants and was performing sex acts on the victim while he masturbated. At that point she ran back to the bar to get help.

Police tracked Miller to a nearby apartment. Officers had his cell phone number from the phone call made by the witness. When officers dialed that number, the phone in Miller's possession started to ring.
