Father, son drug bust in Tampa turns up $60,000 worth of heroin

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says they seized  11.5 ounces of heroin, $7,677 in cash, a misdemeanor amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a drug bust in Tampa on Tuesday, July 5. 

Matthew Zimmerman, 52, and his son Logan, 17, were arrested as a result of a drug bust involving two search warrants that were executed at an apartment on Paddock Glen Drive in Tampa and at a storage unit at 5404 Waters Avenue West in Tampa. 

Matthew Zimmerman was charged with 2 counts of trafficking heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Logan Zimmerman was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officials say the street value of the heroin is estimated to be over $60,000.
