An app called Contractor Central App rolled out today by Tampa city officials is being billed as a tool to help contractors easily request and schedule inspections and connect with inspectors using smart phones.

In addition, a tool called Civic Insight will allow residents, local organizations and businesses to track down the status of building permits as they go through the approval process.

To download the contractor app, go to the app store or play store and search for "Contractor Central." Go here for a how-to guide:

Said Mayor Bob Buckhorn: "Our city is expanding at a rapid pace, and with that, we have the responsibility to make the contracts and permitting process as easy as possible. These tools will become a one-stop-shop for those looking to invest in this great city.”
