Officials want all residents to have a hurricane kit ready before the upcoming season begins and have a plan ready in case normal life is disrupted by a major weather event.

Officials are also reminding residents to take advantage of the 2018 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday which runs from Friday, June 1 through Thursday, June 7. During the sales tax holiday period, qualifying items related to disaster preparedness are exempt from sales tax. Get a list of exempt items here.
