UPDATE: Hillsborough County detectives arrest Juan Antonio Bracero Jr. in connection to the home invasion on Friday morning.  The second suspect remains at large

ORIGINAL STORY:

Students at University of South Florida received an alert on Friday morning about an armed home invasion off campus, north of Fletcher Avenue at the intersection of 37th Street and Heritage Club Drive.

Hillsborough County deputies responded to the scene after the initial call came in around 9:33 a.m.

The text alert told students to remain alert and avoid the area.

Police say a person inside opened the door for two people they didn't know. The men tried barging in, then left on foot. One had a gun.

One suspect was described as a black male between 16-18 years old, 5'9"-6'0" tall with a short haircut. He was wearing blue jeans, a hoodie style shirt and a tee shirt with writing on it.

The second suspect was described as a 20-year-old Hispanic male 5'8" and 160 lbs. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans, and also had some facial hair.

Police say the motive appears to be drug related.

There were no injures reported.

Anyone with any information reference the suspect is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200 or anyone with any information regarding the identity and whereabouts of this suspect and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
