St. Pete Police have identified a woman found dead in a creek as 40-year-old Melissa Higgins of St. Petersburg.
On Saturday afternoon, a bicyclist found the woman’s body in a creek near the Jet Jackson Recreation Center in St. Petersburg.
Police believe her body had been there for more than 24 hours before anyone discovered her.
Detectives are investigating Higgins' death as suspicious.
