ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Police are investigating a deadly stabbing Sunday night in St. Petersburg.
Officers responded to a fight in the 100 block of Martin Luther King Street North at around 8:30 p.m. Police found a man had been stabbed only about three blocks from parking Lot 6 at Tropicana Field.
The victim in his 50s was transported to the hospital and died from his injuries. He was later identified as Melvin Lee Oliver.
Police do not have a suspect at this time.
Officers closed a portion of Martin Luther King Street North to traffic at 1st Avenue while homicide detectives investigated the stabbing.
