A 68-year-old woman was arrested for exploiting a 94-year-old man living in an assisted living facility, authorities say.
Jane. E. Vatelot of 7300 Sunshine Skyway Lane South #206, was arrested by St. Petersburg police on a warrant for exploitation of the elderly.
The victim is a 94-year-old man who is a resident of a local assisted living facility.
Vatelot is al icensed professional guardian who was contacted about helping the victim with his finances. She was granted Power of Attorney from the victim, who lacked the capacity at the time, police say, allowing her access to his account.
Police say Vatelot used the victim's funds for her own expenses that includes mortgage, credit cards and car insurance payments. The loss is about $126,000.
