A 16-year-old boy is in stable condition after he was accidentally shot while wrestling with his older brother.

According to St. Petersburg police, two brothers, ages 22 and 16, were play wrestling in their home on 44th Street South when the older brother's handgun, which was tucked into his paints, fired, and the bullet hit the 16-year old in his left side.

The older brother took his younger brother to the hospital for treatment. Detectives determined that the shooting was accidental.

Police say the older brother has a valid State of Florida concealed firearm license.

The 16-year-old is in stable condition and being treated at Bayfront Health.
