ST. PETERSBURG - A couple was found dead in their St. Petersburg apartment Friday night, according to St, Petersburg Police.
Police say they were called for a welfare check at the Vibe Apartments on 77th Avenue North around 11pm. After entering the residence, they found 22-year-old Johnesia Simmons and 30-year-old Jeremiah Mells both dead. The couple were known to be in a relationship.
The victim's child was not home at the time and is safe with family members, police say.
St. Petersburg Police are still investigating to determine the cause of death.
