Pinellas County deputies and a hazmat team were on scene of a tense situation in St. Petersburg early Wednesday. The discovery of a possible meth lab had a neighborhood on edge.

A home on Mentone Drive near Snug Harbor Road, just west of the Gandy Bridge, was the center of the investigation. Nearly the entire block was closed off out of concern for the public's safety.

Investigators with the sheriff's office arrived sometime after 1 a.m. to make this bust.

Deputies arrested three people: 45-year-old Kimberly Phipps, 31-year-old Robert Boyd and 54-year-old Charles D. Hale were charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Possession of Unlawful Listed Chemicals.

Detectives say they took possession of multiple chemicals and equipment utilized in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
