VP Mike Pence postpones Florida bus tour

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Vice President Mike Pence has reportedly postponed his "Faith in America" tour event in Florida.

On Saturday, the Republican Party of Sarasota announced Vice President Pence's scheduled visit to Sarasota has been pushed back for a later date. Fox News reports the Florida tour event was postponed amid coronavirus concerns.

Florida once again broke its single-day record of new coronavirus cases on Saturday morning. This time, the state saw 9,585 new COVID-19 cases, according to new numbers from the Florida Department of Health (DOH).

Florida's total number of positive coronavirus cases is 132,545 as of Saturday morning, according to DOH. The new numbers broke Friday's single-day record, which was 8,942 new coronavirus cases.

The Associated Press reports Vice President Pence is still traveling to Florida and will meet with Governor Ron DeSantis and his health care teams.
