A kayaker was found dead Wednesday a day after going missing near Deer Prairie Creek Preserve in Venice.
Tommy R. Trousdale, 66, was found in a canal about a mile south of the entrance to the preserve, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. No foul play is suspected in his death.
Trousdale was last seen driving from his home in Sarasota about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, deputies said. He has his orange kayak. The vehicle was found at Deer Creek’s launch site.
