People from all over the world are enjoying Sarasota County beaches during spring break. Tourism officials are expecting about 164-thousand visitors during the month of March.
Sarasota County Sheriff’s Deputies are increasing patrols this week with the additional guests. They are checking the beach areas by foot, ate, and even horseback. They are looking for underage drinkers and making sure pedestrians are using crosswalks.
Milan Brunet is visiting Lido Beach with his family. He is aware of the increased patrols.
“I think it’s great to see them all over and it makes you feel safe,” said Brunet.
Tourism officials believe the spring breakers will have about a $322-million dollar economic impact.
“It’s really crowded, but it’s beautiful and the weather is awesome,” said Brunet.
