Newly released 911 audio chronicles the terrifying moments after a Sarasota County woman escaped from a man investigators said held his ex-girlfriend prisoner for six days.
911 calls a reveal violent relationship gone wrong
On June 1, an arrest report released by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office shows that Isidro Espina-Aquino began taping the interior door handles shut and tying up the victim. She told investigators he also forced her to ingest a Xanax pill and threatened to inject her with a substance called Dilaudid.
On June 6, early in the morning, deputies responded to the 5400 block of Stonehaven Lane for what was originally reported as a disturbance.
The 56-year-old victim’s neighbor tells the 911 operator, “her boyfriend was tying her up an abuse type thing, he was fighting with her on my porch she was trying to get away,” the caller said.
The victim was able to escape after investigators say Espina-Aquino injected himself with Dilaudid and passed out. When he fell asleep, the woman was able to free herself and escape and ran to her neighbor's house.
Espina-Aquino chased her, grabbed her and tried to force her back into her home, but the neighbor was able to rescue her and pull her into their home where they then called 911.
“He tied me up every night,” the victim told the 911 operator. “I have bruises from where he tied me up and I think I have an egg under my eye from where he hit me.”
Espina-Aquino was arrested and charged with domestic battery, false imprisonment and violation of an injunction for protection.
