SARASOTA, Fla. -- A new app called “Parker” will help drivers in downtown Sarasota, St. Armands Circle, Southside Vilage, and Lido Beach find open parking spots in real-time.
The city has installed sensors which send real-time parking data to the app. Users will see a map with available parking spots.
“Parker not only benefits those using the app, but it also helps us gather data about parking usage,” said Parking Operations manager Mark Lyons. “Plus, it cuts down the amount of time a drier spends looking for parking, which ultimately reduces congestion and carbon emissions.”
The app works with both iOS and Android and is currently available for use.
