Saturday afternoon hundreds of friends and family members attended funeral services for Orlando shooting victim Eddie Sotomayor. The service was held at Robarts Arena in Sarasota where the 34-year-old was from.
"Eddie was a very dynamic person if you met him you instantly liked him everyone was his friend," said Gayle Fortin.
People in attendance laughed, cried, and even danced during a portion of the service when Whitney Houston's song "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" was played in the arena.
"This is going to be our way to say goodbye to eddie to remember the great things about Eddie," said Fortin.
Family members, friends, and even Sarasota Mayor Willie Charles Shaw spoke to mourners.
A candlelight processional will happen Saturday evening at the St. Pete Pride Parade.
Sotomayor worked in the travel agency and family members said he had made friends with people from throughout the world.
