SARASOTA, Fla. – Detectives in Sarasota County say they have identified a suspect who pulled off a daring daylight robbery in December.
Now they are asking for the public’s help in locating Everett Williams, a career criminal who has been in and out of jail most of his adult life. Investigators say the 52-year-old suspect entered the Kay Jewelers location at the University Town Center on December 14, 2017.
He asked a clerk to show him several diamond engagement rings, when they did, Williams allegedly snatched the valuables, ran out of the store and into a silver or gray sedan that was waiting for him.
According to his Florida Department of Corrections arrest history, his last known address was in Tampa. Williams has an arrested record that goes back over three decades. He has served seven stints in state prison for convictions out of Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas, Clay, Lake, Marion and Palm Beach counties.
