SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — Parents in Sarasota County are suing the school board over the face mask requirement after the board voted to extend the policy until the end of the school year.

The lawsuit was filed on October 21, the day after the board's decision.
The nearly 60-page document argues that forcing the students to wear masks subjects them to physical and psychological harm. It also argues that it should be up to the parents to make the decisions on what is in their child's best interest.
The lawsuit says that it's the children who need protection from the adults when it comes to transmitting COVID-19, not the adults needing protection from the children.
