The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 9:05 p.m., in the 700 block of Colonial Road in Venice.
Preliminary investigation indicates the victim, who was expecting a female visitor to his home, opened his front door and was shot. Emergency medical personnel responded and transported the victim to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
The three suspects believed to be involved are described as a white female with brunette-colored hair, a black male and Hispanic male. They may be traveling in a white 4-door sedan.
