Sarasota shooting leaves 2 wounded in leg

Sarasota police are investigating a shooting that left a man and woman injured.
 
They both were shot in the leg and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The shooting occurred about 7 p.m., according to Sarasota Police Department.
 
Shortly after police officers responded, investigators said two scenes were involved: the 800 block of North Washington Boulevard and the 2100 to 2300 block of Osprey Avenue.
 
Then officers said they believed the shooting occurred in the 3000 block of Maple Avenue, while investigators remained on a related scene in the 2100 block of Osprey.
 
North Washington Boulevard/U.S. 301 has reopened.
