PD: Massachusetts teen vacationing in Siesta Key stabs mother and brother

Deputies from the Sarasota County Sheriff's office arrested a teen accused of stabbing his mother and brother.

The 16-year-old from Massachusetts was vacationing in Siesta Key with his mother and brother, according to investigators.

Deputies said the stabbing happened just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday in the 8900 block of Blind Pass Rd.

When deputies arrived, they found the teen's mother and 14-year-old brother with stab wounds.

The 16-year-old suspect ran from the home after the stabbing, according to investigators.

He was located and arrested a short time later.

Investigators said the teen confessed to stabbing both his mother and younger brother, but no motive has been released.

The teen is charged with two counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder. After being booked into the Sarasota County Jail, Ramgren was taken into custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice where he remains.

The brother was flown to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The teen's mother is also listed in critical condition.
