An 18-year-old man was found dead in the streets of Palmetto late Sunday night.
A motorist was driving in the on 1st Avenue when they saw the victim, Alexander Anderson, lying on the east side of 1st Avenue in a pool of blood.
The Sheriff's Office arrived on scene and located the victim, deceased, on 1st Avenue just south of the intersection with 21st Street East.
Deputies say the victim had suffered apparent gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Homicide detectives are investigating the incident.
