MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — Amid the coronavirus pandemic, all Florida schools are closed until at least April 15. Manatee County Schools on Friday announced an expansion of meal distribution for students during that time.

The district says school-aged children will continue to get meals from meal sites and bus routes starting March 30.

COMPLETE COVERAGE OF CORONAVIRUS

At the meal sites, parents will be able to drive up and get the food without having to exit their vehicle. Children must be in the vehicle at the time, the district says.

The district says food service employees will also be distributing meals directly from schools buses to families at designated sites.

The meals will include one lunch and one breakfast for the following day.
